Tanto is a common Japanese style single- or double-edged knife or dagger with a blade length between 6-12 inches. Tanto were mostly carried by samurai, as commoners did not generally wear them.
The blade is made from high alloy steel and decorated with an image of a dragon.
The handle is made in the form of a dragon and lavishly jeweled. The Tsuba is made from brass. Sakura branches and a tiger’s head beset the tsuba.
The scabbard is made from redwood. It has a mount, a locket and a chape which are made from brass. The metallic details of the scabbard are decorated with flowering sakura branches.
