The handle is made from redwood; it is covered with skate skin. Two brassy bolsters are decorated with floral ornament. The handle is braided with a decorative cord. The tsuba and habaki are made from brass. The tsuba is decorated with an image of a tiger’s head from the front and with floral ornament from the backing.

The wooden sheath is covered with snakeskin. It has a mount and a chape made from brass and decorated with floral ornament and a ring with a tie.

The technologies: casting, handmade drawing, needle engraving, etching, chisel engraving, nickel plating, gold plating, niello, lacquering, braiding.

The materials:  steel, brass, redwood, leather, cord, snakeskin, skate skin. 

Coatings: Nickel plating up to 9 micron; gold plating up to 5 micron.
