Rondel dagger is a dagger for a left hand. Swordsmanship was brought to us from Italy. Fencing is an art teaching all the guards and attacks with cold steel arms. For great while swords were considered to be the most noble and suitable weapons for single combats by the duelists. They defended themselves mainly with a left arm and stabbed with a right one.By the turn of the 17th century the blade of Rondel daggers turned narrower, the hand was protected by the delta-shaped shield curved to the top of the grip and the cup, these parts were often made laced for the rival's blade lodged in the small holes like in the sieve. Besides, the blades had a lot of special fittings for holding and breaking the bladed weapons.

The Rondel dagger the Cobra is a unique hand-made sample. The blade is straight; it has a speary form, diamond-shaped section. The blade is made from high alloy steel. It is decorated with an ornament and an image of a cobra.   

The handle is made from walnut nodule. The metallic details are decorated with stylized design. The cup of the grip is made in the form of a king cobra's head.The eyes of the cobra are decorated with jewelry inserts.

The all-metal scabbard has a laid on mount. The scabbard are decorated with an original individually made pattern and an image of a cobra and a mongoose.

The technologies: hand work, casting, handmade drawing, needle engraving, etching, chisel engraving, nickel plating, gold plating, silver niello, niello.
